After three years of blogging on justleap.net, I decided it was time for a change. Although I enjoyed the old concept, I realize that in order to create the most useful content for my readers, a new brand is necessary. Enter Noah Nomad. 

Although there is no denying that the available URLs definitely played a role in choosing the name for this new blog, I think it is very fitting for what this version of the blog will be about. Obviously, my name is Noah hence the first part of the name. But what about "Nomad"; where does that come from?

At first glance you might assume that it comes from my love of travel, and rightly so. However, the idea of nomadism is much larger than physical travel from place to place. Nomadism, at its core, is all about thriving off of change. Just like our earliest ancestors would have starved if they did not move with their environment, our lives in the modern age depend on the rapid movement of goods and ideas. Whether you love traveling and trying exotic new foods, or prefer to relax at home, I guarantee that your life would look completely different without this constant exchange. If you don't believe me, I challenge you to make it to lunch without using any physical or digital product that exists as a result of globalization. Should you be successful, please let me know how you manage to balance living such a simple life and still access blog posts.

In any case, this blog seeks to keep you on your toes at all times, enccouraging you to travel beyond your current horizons. By sharing uncommon perspectives on life, I hope to help you capitalize on the beautiful diversity our world has to offer. Although there will be a focus on travel and lifestyle, topics will range from politics to baking. Utilizing personal experiences or those of others, each post will aim to promote thoughtful consideration of novel ideas, or attempt to rework foundational concepts.

As a result, I find the use of "nomad" quite fitting, and I hope you do too. By touching on many ideas, just as a nomad travels to many locations, NoahNomad.com aims to broaden your horizons in order to foster a more peaceful and understanding world. It may feel at times like the world is growing increasingly smaller, with new technologies increasing the ease of travel and shrinking the perceived distances between continents. However, I challenge you to see that as a great opportunity to better get to know your fellow humans, rather than struggling to stake out a claim on your share of land.

I recognize that you might now have more questions than when you started reading, but that is sort of the point about this whole venture. As many random websites claim, Ralph Waldo Emerson once stated, "life is a journey, not a destination," and, whether he really said that or not, I would be honored to walk together with you for part of that adventure. Welcome to Noah Nomad.
